[Dar-us-Salaam] Reminder: Help the Hungry on Monday 1/18

Reminder: THIS MONDAY!! Help those around us who are in need, feed someone
hungry.

Help the Hungry on Monday, 1/18 at a soup kitchen in Washington, DC. There
is a new location, and children and youth ages 7 and older may attend, see
details below. This opportunity is for both brothers and sisters. Meet at
Al-Huda School's front office at 3:30pm to travel as a group, or at the soup
kitchen at 4:30pm.

It is 4 blocks from the Columbia Heights metro stop, on the green line.

*Driving from I-95 in Maryland:*
Starting southbound on I-95
Bear right on HWY 495 (the Beltway) heading west for 3.5 miles
Take the HWY 29 exit south and go for 4.1 miles
Turn right on MILITARY heading west for 0.5 miles
Turn left on 16th Street heading south for 2.0 miles to 1525 Newton St NW

*Using MetroRail: (approximately 7 minutes away by foot)*
Take the green line to the Columbia Heights Metro station.  Exit the station
using the South Bound Entrance.  Walk 4 blocks North on 14th Street to
Newton Street NW.  At the 14th Street and Newton Intersection turn left onto
Newton Street and walk to the end of the block at 16thStreet and Newton
Street – St. Stephen’s and the Incarnation Episcopal Church will be on your
right.

*Thrive DC's Policy on Youth and Children:*
"Youth ages 16-17 may come unaccompanied after an initial visit with a
parent or guardian. Youth ages 12 and up may come as part of a group with
adult chaperones. Children ages 7-11 are welcome if accompanied by their own
parent."
